Construction Activities
September 12, 2025 – Closure at Col Rowe Blvd and I-2 Intersection Extended
McALLEN – The closure at Col Rowe Boulevard and the I-2 westbound frontage road has been extended and will remain in place through Wednesday, September 17.
During this closure, westbound I-2 traffic will be detoured to continue west to 10th Street and follow a guided detour route.
Southbound Col Rowe Boulevard traffic will be diverted to continue south on 2nd Street and follow directional signage through the
alternate route.
Motorists are advised to allow extra travel time and follow posted detour signs.
Drivers are reminded to stay alert and slowdown in roadwork zones, to be aware of lane closures and alternate routes, and to follow all traffic control updates.

August 11, 2025 – Nightly underpass closures in McAllen
PHARR – The I-2 underpasses at Jackson Road and Jackson Avenue in McAllen, will be intermittently closed nighty this week, August 4 through August 18. Crews will be painting structures in the area between 8 p.m. and 6 a.m. Detour signs will be in place to direct motorists through alternate routes.
In addition, daily and nighty lane reductions will continue through Pharr, McAllen, and San Juan for construction activities related to the I-2 / I-69C Interchange project. Entrance and exit ramps within these limits may be closed while work is in progress.

July 21, 2025 – Closures announced for the I-2 / I-69C Interchange Project
PHARR – Daily and nightly lane reductions are scheduled to continue this week, July 21 through July 27, throughout the project corridor. The closures are necessary to provide crews with a safe work zone.
Details on nightly full roadway closures taking place this week are included below.
Nightly Closures
The following roadways will be closed nightly from 8PM to 6AM:
- Eastbound I-2 frontage road between Cage Boulevard and Veterans Boulevard in Pharr
- Westbound I-2 frontage road between Cage Boulevard and Sugar Road in Pharr
- U.S. Business 83 underpass at I-2 in Pharr
- Westbound I-2 frontage road between Jackson Road and Jackson Avenue in McAllen
Entrance and exit ramps through McAllen, Pharr and San Juan may be intermittently closed while work is taking place.
All work is weather permitting.

Project are included below.
Daily Closures
The following exit ramps will be closed daily this week between
8:30AM and 4PM:
- Westbound I-2 Raul Longoria Road
exit ramp, in San Juan
- Westbound I-2 Cage Boulevard
exit ramp, in Pharr
Nightly Closures
The following roadways will be closed nightly this week, from
8PM to 6AM:
- U.S. Business 83 underpass at
I-2, in Pharr
- Eastbound I-2 McColl Road exit
ramp, in McAllen
- Eastbound I-2 Jackson Road exit
ramp, in McAllen
- Westbound I-2 frontage road
between Jackson Road and Jackson Avenue, in McAllen

Continuous Closures
The following roadways will be continuously closed this week:
- Eastbound I-2 Sugar Road exit ramp, in Pharr
- Turnaround lanes, in both directions, at McColl Road, in McAllen
Nightly Closures
Nightly full closures will take place from 8PM to 6AM at the following locations:
- U.S. Business 83 underpasses at I-2, in Pharr
- Westbound I-2 frontage road between Jackson Road and Jackson Avenue, in McAllen
- Eastbound I-2 entrance and exit ramps between Jackson Road and Jackson Avenue, in McAllen
Daily closures:

The following roadways will be closed nightly, from 8PM to 6AM:
- Westbound I-2 frontage road between Veterans Boulevard and Cage Boulevard, in Pharr
- Westbound I-2 frontage road between Jackson Road and Jackson Avenue, in McAllen
- U.S. Business 83 underpass at I-2, in Pharr
Continuous Closures
Starting Monday night, June 16, the following roadways will be continuously closed for the week:
- Westbound I-2 Sugar Road/ Jackson Road exit ramp, in Pharr
- I-69C turnaround lanes, in both directions, at Sioux Road, in Pharr
- I-69C turnaround lanes, in both directions, at McColl Road, in McAllen
Daily and nightly lane reductions will also continue along the frontage roads and main lanes, throughout the project corridor, to provide crews with a safe work zone. The entrance and exit ramp may be intermittently closed while work is taking place.
